Day 2, here we go. I feel like the brush is breaking-in pretty well, and it feels like the tips were noticably softer by the time I was lathering for the second pass than they were lathering for the first time yesterday.
Here is an album that I am going to continue uploading to throughout the month to show progress of the brush. I saw others were progress tracking soap weights, so I decided to weigh my tub today pre and post-shave, and I went from 180.6g to 169.1g, which seems crazy... 11.5 grams! I don't feel like I loaded crazy heavy, since I did a two pass WTG and ATG shave, and when I squeezed the brush out there was barely any lather left in the knot.
The Le Maurice continues to shine. I truly love this razor. It think it may be my outright favorite of the razors that I own and have owned. I was able to achieve a 2-pass BBS result this evening, after the same yesterday and that is not something I can comfortably do with many razors. Even with the razors I've been able to accomplish this with, I usually can't keep it going for 3 or more days. My face feels totally fine, without signs of irritation, so I'm hopeful I can make it through a 5-day stretch of 2-pass BBS shaves (that would be a work week test for me).
Austere August goals below...
I decided that Austere August was the perfect time to accomplish three things:
* Kill some soap (I have too much)
* See just how many shaves I can put on each edge of a Wizamet (I usually toss them after 10-12 shaves, but not really out of necessity)
* Further refine my technique to see if I can achieve daily BBS for a month straight (if I start getting irritation, I'll drop to WTG and XTG, and if I need to, drop to two WTG passes)
This SOTD is part of the challenge
