Brush: Maggard Razors Kit
Razor: Maggard Razors V3
Blade: Gillette Nacet [4]
Lather: Chiseled Face - Midnight Stag
Post Shave: Macduff’s Soap Co. - Prairie Blooms
Fragrance: First Line Shave - Turtle EdP
Midnight Stag is nice to pull out every once in a while. Apparently it has 11 notes (Russian Leather, Motor Oil, Hoppes #9, Birch Tar, Oakmoss, Gasoline, Smoke, Cedar, Cade, Bergamot, Vanilla) but I just get leather and sweet oil and gas. Smells like grandpa and that’s enough for me.
Because I can’t be smelling like grandpa all day or my family will end me, I followed up with Prairie Blooms and kept the overload going (12 notes: Lilac, Lemon, White Musk, Galbanum, Ylang Ylang, Peach, Jasmine, Musk, Carnation Absolute, Bergamot, Orange Blossom, Bamboo). I love this scent and its photorealistic lilac backed by a really nice collection of sweet citrus. It’s very bright and a polar opposite of the Stag.
And finally Turtle is a dupe of Acqua di Gio Absolu, listing 14 notes (Sea Notes, Bergamot, Pear, Apple, Grapefruit, Lemon; Lavender, Rosemary and Geranium, Woody Notes, Tonka Bean, Patchouli, Amberwood, Labdanum). This continues the sweet citrus theme from Prairie Blooms but transports it to the sea before drying down to a cool patchouli.
