Strike Gold Shave – Bees Knees is a dupe of Jo Malone’s Nectarine Blossom & Honey fragrance. I’ve never smelled that Jo Malone fragrance, so I can’t really comment on how accurate it is (or isn’t), but I can tell you this scent is delightful and bright. Imagine a sun-drenched meadow where bees buzz lazily over blooming flower blossoms. The air is thick with the sweet scent of honey and ripe fruit, yet there's a refreshing breeze that keeps it from being overpowering. That’s exactly where today’s shave took me.
As soon as I opened the tub, I’m hit with a wave of flowers. Flowers on flowers on flowers! There is a juicy nectarine note which is sweetened by the scent of rich, golden honey. The scent envelopes me in a cocoon of sweetness, making each stroke of the razor smell like springtime. There’s a slight vetiver note, which likely helps balance the scent so it’s not TOO sweet or floral. The bees may be busy, but I’m in a state of blissful relaxation with the scent as a whole. While I’d like to say this soap is the bees’ knees, the performance of it is just okay. I’ve used quite a few god-tier soaps so far in the Lather Games, but this one left something to be desired.
To complete this sensory journey, I spritz on Cartier’s Eau de Cartier. This classic fragrance adds a refined touch, with its crisp citrus opening, fresh floral heart, and warm, woody base. It harmonizes beautifully with the sweet notes of Bees Knees, elevating the overall experience to a level of understated floral bliss. It’s the perfect finishing touch, like a gentle breeze carrying the last whispers of a summer day. The combination of Bees Knees and Eau de Cartier is a match made in scent heaven, blending sweetness, flowers, and a little earth in perfect harmony.
Challenge: I’m a shit artist, so I wanted to recreate the label, using only basic circles and ovals. Here’s my attempt.
