July 04, 2023 – June Shaves

  • Brush: Cayuen Abalone w/ 28mm Timberwolf Synthetic
  • Bowl: Timeless Shave Bowl, Blue
  • Razor: Titanium Henson +++, polished (Tech-Priest Construct)
  • Blade: Voskhod (1)
  • Lather: A&E – Forbidden Fruit

I polished up my razors with Flitz and now we do our shave today. This soap has both fruit and flowers in the soap notes: Aniseed, Brandy, Cannabis, Cedarwood, Green Apple, Hashish, Jasmine, Oud, Resins, Rose, Sandalwood. Not ultra-flowery, but flowery enough for our purposes. Exquisite BBS finish.

Today's challenge is science, eh? You want science? I'll give you science! How about, The Science of Blade Sharpness?!? https://www.reddit.com/r/ShavingScience/comments/gmc2ex/the_science_of_blade_sharpness_what_is_the_best/

I've lived by these graphs and I went from cutting up my face the first time I picked up a DE razor to baby smooth shave with no nicks at all on a daily basis. The most consistent blades work best for me, I dispose of them after 3 or 4 shaves, and I'm much better off for it. Better shaving through science!
