LG 2023 Day 1: The Worst Day Hopefully

  • Prep: warm water

  • Brush: Vintage Ever Ready 200 with Unbelached Zenith Boar

  • Razor: Schick Type B Injector

  • Blade: Some no name brand (1)

  • Lather: Williams - Williams Mug Soap (vintage) - Soap

  • Post-Shave: Williams - Aqua Velva - Aftershave

  • Fragrance: Initio Parfums - Oud for Greatness - EdP

Today is both an amazing and horrible day. The start of the Lather Games is always an electrifying thing, it brings me great joy to read people's day 1 posts while they shake off the rust and get into the awing of things. I wish all of you the best over the next 30 days!

Today is also my brother's memorial service. I'll be seeing family members I haven't seen for an extremely long time, family friends, and other people who's lives my brother touched. I'm not really ready for all the emotions and pain that will be experienced today but nobody ever is I think. I'm gonna do my best to be there for my family while they're all gathered here to remember my brother.

For my shave today, I used this grated double puck of vintage Williams regular and mentholated (combined) soap, some Spanish Aqua Velva, and one of my favorite fragrances of all time. The Schick has been sitting on my shelf unused since I bought it, I learned how to load the magazine and razor head last night for today. These things are so fucking cool! The brush I've used before but I'm not really "participating" so I think we'll live.
