July 22, 2023 – June Shaves

  • Brush: Cayuen Abalone w/ 28mm Timberwolf Synthetic
  • Razor: Karve Shaving Co. – Overlander, TechniColor Edition
  • Blade: Voskhod (3)
  • Lather: 345 Soap Co. – Ol' Red
  • Post-Shave: The Club – The Recipe

I've had this razor for about one month now, and up until I could do the big reveal recently I kept this under wraps and only used it for head shaving, with pleasant results. Today was a first time face shave with the Overlander! I'm pleased to report the results are just as good as everyone else implied, in spite of my penchant for chemically-induced tinkering. The heavy brass plowed through thick double with nary a problem, and I'm left with an awesome BBS finish for the day.

I didn't think I had any shaving soap with berry notes in it until I forced myself to dig through the soap archives. The soap appears to be a seasonal release, with aromas of vanilla, nutmeg, raspberry, and fir needles. It's definitely meant for the winter season, but we can use it today and provides decent performance.

Have a good weekend, gentlemen.
