  • Brush: Turkish Walnut Pure Badger #WEDONTNEEDNOSTINKINGBADGERS
  • Razor: Ralf Aust 6/8, Full Hollow Spanish Point
  • Lather: West Coast Shaving - Chypre
  • Post Shave: Barrister and Man - Le Grand Chypre Aftershave Splash

This smush of WCS Chypre comes courtesy of u/RedMosquitoMM. I really enjoy this soap. Made for WCS by Chicago Grooming, if I'm not mistaken. The duck fat base is a great performer. Both primary and residual slickness are there. The scent, though, is my favorite part. Citrus and resin done very well. To me, it comes across as very incense-y and I love it for that.

Prior to this, my only experience was with LGC, which I honestly don't care for. I had a set and gave it away to a friend who was also into wetshaving. The splash I used today came from him. Though I don't care for it, I borrowed it so I can commit to the bit today. This same friend is who I borrowed the brush from. I made him this brush super early on when I started making anything wetshaving related. Looking at and using this brush makes me think of that scene in Avengers when smart Hulk is back in time and watching in embarrassment as his old self just runs around, mindlessly smashing. I used to think these knots were pretty alright. They were definitely a huge step up from what I'd started with. Then u/sgrdddy gave me some education on badger hair and nudged me in the right direction. That nudge, as it turns out, brought me right to the edge of the rabbit hole. I am incredibly thankful for the advice and help he gave me. Both my shaves and what I make are the better for it. Thanks again, u/sgrdddy.
