For today's Juneteenth shave, not only is my House of Mammoth lather from a Union state, but almost every item today is.
The Rubberset company was in Newark, New Jersey
Gillette was famously located in Boston, MA
House of Mammoth is New York (and shipped out of Illinois?) which was also a Union state
Ogallala is based in Nebraska, and although Nebraska didn't achieve statehood until 1867, Nebraska was a Union territory whose residents fought for the Union Army
There is only one American made blade to my knowledge; Personna. It felt like it would have been irresponsible to use them today as they were a Confederate state. So I picked a Gillette blade, while not made in Boston, it was made in Russia. Russia was the only country that openly supported the Union.
