Today, we’re hunting a Mammoth!
A mysterious ring has appeared, an elusive Ring of Death, right here in this jungle. Some have said it will take you back in time. I’ve always dreamt of meeting prehistoric giants, so I can't resist giving it a go.
With a deep breath, I slip into the ring, and in a bright flash, the jungle vanishes, replaced by snow and ice. Everything is freezing, and I can’t feel my face anymore.)
“Would ya at this place!” Steve exclaims in his typical Australian accent! “We’ve landed smack in the middle of the Ice Age.” “Steve?!?” I exclaimed! “How did you get here?” “Well you see…” he started, “It all started with that damn ray, but we don’t have time for that now, look!”
Following his gaze, I see many signs of the prized animal we hunt after! As we treked through the snow we had one false sighting, but it is not what we seek. We followed the trail to their den just imagining the size it must be to hold these massive beasts.
Our long journey has been worth it as I finally spot them: a herd of Mammoths, grazing among the rocks. “Would you look at that!” Steve whispers to me. “Just like modern elephants but with shaggy coats.”
As we watch, a sad blast comes up from the group. “Blimey! This just got interesting!” Steve says. He explains that one among them must be close to the end. I scramble up a tree for a better view.
As the sun sets, we watch as the Mammoth in the middle comes to the end of its life. With one final sad toot, they place his husk with the others who have passed.
Steve is the first to break the silence. “Wow! What a unique adventure, and while sad ending, it was so awesome to experience this part of nature today.” With a final look at the mammoths, I say goodby to Steve and with another flash, and I’m back in the present, in the same jungle. I cant shake the feeling that I traveled back with the spirit of that Mammoth.
And with that, I set off on my next journey, always ready to explore and protect the natural world.
Daily Challenge: If my lather ain’t drippin, I’m trippin! But for the good of the games, I knocked back the water I used today to just what was in my brush after soaking. If this isn’t pasty enough for you, idk what is!
Daily Theme Justification: She dead! This was my 55th use of Dammusi, when added to the 10+ samples I have sent out makes 65-70 shaves from a full tub!
Relevant Post Shave & Frag: All are dead or close to it! Dammussi & Witch Hazel kill! I’m very close on the balm and Tobacconist has a significant dent in it!
