Dupes are so prevalent around here and it’s an interesting topic among members here. Some artisans get a ton of hate for it and others like Stirling drive the majority of their business with dupes. To me, the difference is in marketing and how they talk about it. For example, WK makes no mention of it being a dupe on their product page. On the other hand, places like Chicago Grooming and Stirling mention the inspiration scent for things.
Other places like Fragrance Revival (they don’t deserve a link) are “duping” scents to try to flood the market and make money however they can. Including by selling Catie’s Bubbles scents for a higher price than the original! They boast a gigantic “discontinued fragrance) list and is nothing but a cheap money grab.
Daily Challenge: Today I get to show off my genius with my incredible replica of todays soap label! Now I know what you’re saying, how could I have bested last year’s label but somehow I’ve done it!
Daily Theme Justification: Cedrati is a dupe of Mancera Cedrat Boise of which I’ve never smelled the original so can’t really comment on how similar they are. It smells good and i think it the only full tub of dupe soap that I own. I have owned 2 different Aventus dupes at one point but sold/PIFd both.
Relevant Post Shave & Frag: Todays theme scent note is Cedar. All three of these boast a woody note of cedar/cedarwood
