  • Brush: n/a
  • Razor: Fatip Piccolo Slant Closed Comb
  • Blade: Gillette Super Platinum (Black) (5)
  • Lather: Barbasol - Soothing Aloe
  • Post Shave: Lider Aftershave Lotion
  • Fragrance: Antonio Puig - Sybaris

I haven't used canned goop for 30 years. Back high school I used Noxzema "Sensitive Skin" in a red can, and I become convince it was causing/exacerbating acne. So I switched to ordinary soap, usually a bar of Dove, which brings us up (almost) to the present.

Honestly tonight's shave didn't go badly. It's like the canned goop scientists have the optimal level of slickness dialed in. And the Barbasol "Soothing Aloe" didn't smell as bad as I expected.

The Lider aftershave was meant to complement the mass-produced/widely available part of the theme. At least it looks/smells like it could be available at drugstores in Poland. The Sybaris, on the other hand, was chosen because it smells medicinal to me, a bit like band-aids.

On the mass-produced side of things, Brush Strokes today features a photograph titled 99 Cent, by the German photographer Andreas Gursky.
