You ever do or say something and then instantly wonder why you did or said that thing? I did. I entered a PIF for a brush from u/35048467 and won and suddenly found myself having to do Raw Hoggin for AA when I wasn't planning on even doing AA. So here I am. wooooo.... so excited. Not to look a gift horse in the mouth but fuck this gift horse's mouth... or whatever you do with gift horses.

I decided I'd use the Focus Slant for the month and go on hard mode as it's a razor I've never been able to master but after today's shave and the new boar scratching up my face I've decided to not do that for the sake of my face and my own sanity. So It's Tabac (randomly selected from a spin of a wheel) and this brush.

To be fair, it's a very nice brush. Dense and plenty of hair that would be great to to break in if I wasn't forced to face lather (I have never done this) with a brush that soaks up all the soap and rubs off all my skin. Hopefully my tune changes by the end of the month but for now... fuck AA. Fuck u/EldrormR's Raw Hoggin. Fuck you. Fuck you. Fuck you. You're cool (you know who you are). Fuck you. I'm out. (But still in for 31 days).

Are we all having fun yet? Getting "in tune" with our shaving stuff? Tearing our face up with an unused boar? Yeah, great idea everyone... great fucking idea. Just a joy to be here. Face lathering is the worst. Or maybe it's not and breaking a boar on your face is. You know what you should never do with anything and your face? Break it in. Breaking things in and faces don't mix.

At least today there was some soap lathering in the brush instead of it just drinking it all up like Jimmy Buffet at a Margarita bar.

Did I need to shave today? No. Did I enjoy it anyway? Fuck no. Does my face feel nice after rubbing a fresh boar on it three days in a row? No. Is the Tabac removing the animal smell of the brush well? No.

Has this brush lost a single hair in three shaves? No. So at least I got that going for me.

Brush was less thirsty today and with it came a reduction in my thirst for revenge on all those who had forced me into this corner. Is that this quenched? No, revenge still burns deep in me and it is unlikely any amount of fluggy, good lather will purge it form my soul.

This brush hasn't lost a single hair that I've seen, which is really impressive. Never had a boar not drop a hair this long. It's also torn up my sunburn, which hurt but has now cleared my skin nicely.

I'm thoroughly surprised by how little soap this brush eats up compared to other boars I've broken in. That may be because I'm shaving every day so it never fully dries out, but still preeeettty nice. Still no hairs lost.

Unfortunately, due to a six-hour car trip that was supposed to conclude with a relaxing shave before bed turning into a ten-hour car trip that concluded with me passing out after unpacking I was unable to shave yesterday so barring a pass from u/EldrormR I am out of contention for the brush and I've let down u/35048467 as well. You may guess, from my previous attitude toward doing AA, that I'd take the cowards way out and use any excuse to stop this hell. But, alas, I am a better man than that, good sirs. Nay, Cowzilla the Third will carry on despite utter failure already being ensured.

I am getting real tired of Tabac but not of how soft this brush is getting.

COVID had me up in bed for about three days straight so I am officially double super disqualified from $RawHoggin but I'm going to press on anyway. I swear I tried but every time I even made it to the bathroom just looking at a razor made me feel tired. Not fun. I also lost me sense of smell for two days, which is a side effect I get from COVID (had it three times now!). I suppose not being able to smell for AA would actually be a boon given you can't get bored if you're not smelling anything anyway. It came back this morning, though, so back to boredom.

I am impressed with the fact that despite multiple days of not shaving, this boar wasn't thirsty at all and kicked up an impressive lather on my face. I'm still not converted to face lathering once this month is over but it ain't so bad.

I have actually shaved the past two days I didn't post as well but... having COVID and failing to shave every day kind of sucked my mental capacity to commit to posting the rest of the month. I am, indeed, a bad person. Also, the wife and kiddo were in Green Bay for the week to take him to his first Packers game so I had video games to play. I forgot how good it is to sit on a couch and just play video games for hours on end. Well, for a few days. By the end of yesterday I was missing them something fierce and clearly unable to function as a human being if I couldn't even put SOTD up.

Road the cap on flat bottom perfectly with the shave. When you nail the angle on this guy, it's magic. Real tired of Tabac but it does kick up a nice lather... still.

I am thoroughly stunned by how pliable and soft this brush has become. My two other boars (not counting MOAR BOAR because that's a different beast) have far more scrub and less play, which isn't always bad, but this one is damn near badger soft at this point. Maybe it's because of the nearly daily shaving for the break in so the bristles are always still a bit wet? Whatever it is it's pretty darn nice.
