First shave with my newly acquired Blackbird. I've been wanting to try this razor for a while, and finally decided to buy one on the 'zaar. I haven't used a razor quite like this before. The vertical lines down the handle provide an interesting texture. I'm sure it's better than other patterns, but it does add to the razor's sleek aesthetic. The razor is weighted towards the head. The head puts enough curvature on the blade to give it good rigidity during the shave. The angle is easy to find and feels intuitive.
The brush has been solid with little change for the last several shaves. It hasn't shed since the first use. The knot is soft. The backbone is perfect for face lathering. The handle feels premium and looks very nice. I don't think it's able to dry out enough between shaves to develop split ends.
