- Brush: Grizzly Bay Prince with 26mm V9 Fanchurian
- Razor: Razorock Game Changer .84
- Blade: Gillette Nacet (14)
- Lather: House of Mammoth – Restore
- Post Shave: Thayers – Rose Petal
- Fragrance: Chatillon Lux – Rose Santal
Now, Restore doesn't get me a lot of compliments, but then again, what does? (my grandma says I smell nice and I'm a handsome young man, though). It is still my most complimented scent, and for good reason. I think HoM is by far one of the best perfumers in the wetshaving space, and Restore really showcases his talent. The blend of fig, honey, and rose with the vetiver background makes for a sweet (but not cloying), warm aroma. The scent is able to fill a space well without feeling overly present, and is just a very pleasant, nice-to-smell fragrance.
I generally consider myself to be pretty good at lathering. My lather today was, in my opinion, very good. Unfortunately, the picture I got of it does not communicate that well. I face lathered, shaved, and then squeezed whatever was left out of the knot, and got this. Really, this sudsy mess hardly looks like anyone could manage to shave with it, like that weird foaming hand soap that comes out looking like bubble bath.
I'm Smelling Good to the tune of I'm Feeling Good by Anthony Newly and Leslie Bricusse
Lyrics:
Soaps in the tub
You know how I shave
Brushes that scrub
You know how I shave
Fragrance that I love
You know how I shave
It's a new soap
It's a new shave
It's a new scent
For me
And I'm smelling good
I'm smelling good
Lathers there for me
You know how I shave
Well shaved ones are we
You know how I shave
Trifecta, set of three
You know how I shave
It's a new soap
It's a new shave
It's a new scent
For me
And I'm smelling good
