  • Brush: Stirling 24mm Synthetic
  • Razor: Muhle R89
  • Blade: Elios Inoxidable (1)
  • Lather: Zingari Man/Barrister & Mann - Nocturne - Soap
  • Post Shave: allMan - Fearless - Aftershave

Nice shave. I haven't used this razor in a while. It's actually an "Art of Shaving" razor that I got at the world's premier shave store - T.J. Maxx. There's no Mühle branding, but back in the day I emailed them to confirm that they made razors for Art of Shaving, and they said yes they did.

Anyway, very nice shave, although slightly more aggressive than some of my favorite razors. Combined with a mild blade it worked great. It's a zamac razor, but they used to make the threads out of brass. It has been said that in recent years they switched to zamac threads, so now Mühle is no better than any of the multitudes of cheap clones. It's a real shame.

Perhaps in an attempt to appease one of our most demanding-of-others-yet-somehow-uninspiring-at-the-same-time players this year, u/jeffm54321, or maybe just to satisfy my own morbid curiosity, I didn't rinse the soap off after the last pass. I just wiped it off with a dry towel. Skin feels great! I can feel myself getting younger.

I really like the scent of Nocturne, but if I ever finish this tub I wouldn't replace it with another. The leaves come across as a sort of metallic note that goes well with the apple (which is a tad too strong for me) and the smoke (not strong enough). Probably the soap bases fault, or so I've heard. It'd be interesting to compare it to an aftershave.
