    Decent shave this morning, had to be quicker than I would like as we were having to rush out the door. Still a decent finish but perhaps not as smooth as previous outings but still acceptable.

    Haven't had the time to throw together proper photos these past few days, I'll have to try and up the effort for the second half of AA.

    Another killer shave and no feedback from the splash.

    Brush before and after pics here. This piggie is definitely not a soap eater, but it feels really nice and lather quality I get from this brush is outstanding.

    Austere August, Day 15 * Brush: Copper Zenith B36, bleached 28mm x 50mm * Razor: Ern 22 7/8 * Lather: Vintage Williams Tonsorial * Post: Proraso Red Aftershave * Frag: Ethos Mysore Santal

    The key to this brush is not shaking it out before loading. The extra water does wonders for both keeping the hairs softer and making a better lather. The shorter loft really cuts down on how much water the knot can hold in general, so more water from the B36 isn't a bad thing.

    Straight shave fifteen. Approaching halfway through the month. Tomorrow will be past it. I wasn’t paying enough attention this morning and managed to reopen two of the cuts from yesterday on the first pass. Kept the second pass to WTG as well and avoided those spots. Seems like it just peeled the small scab off and didn’t cut any deeper so they stopped pretty quickly. Overall a fine, but not great shave.

    COVID had me up in bed for about three days straight so I am officially double super disqualified from $RawHoggin but I'm going to press on anyway. I swear I tried but every time I even made it to the bathroom just looking at a razor made me feel tired. Not fun. I also lost me sense of smell for two days, which is a side effect I get from COVID (had it three times now!). I suppose not being able to smell for AA would actually be a boon given you can't get bored if you're not smelling anything anyway. It came back this morning, though, so back to boredom.

    I am impressed with the fact that despite multiple days of not shaving, this boar wasn't thirsty at all and kicked up an impressive lather on my face. I'm still not converted to face lathering once this month is over but it ain't so bad.

    AA24 - Day 15 - Vareflora

    Passiflora didn't work as well with Varen as I would have liked. It's still a great Summer scent though.

    I'm starting to get a little worried that this blade won't make it to the end of the month.

    I'm accidentally on theme today considering the French connection with Fougères, the Dutch connection with Varen, and Napoleon had decreed Holland part of the French Empire by 1810.

    Almost was too tired to shave today. Just drove from Virginia yo Wisconsin. We left before 6:00 in the morning, and got here after driving for 13 hours. We get to repeat it on Monday, but will try to leave early enough to skip the morning rush around Chicago.

    Not the best shave today. A little too tired to do a good job. No blood, but the shave was lacking. At least the splash is feeling great on my face. I did bring my 8k and 12k stones, but forgot my loupe. I may try a magnification app on the phone to see the edge better when I hone tomorrow or Saturday.
