Literally last night I decided I'd take place in this year's Lather Games, but solely for the Feats of Fragrance. I didn't take place last year, and intended to do the same again due to focusing only on my soap kill goal. But, I already put more thought than most average folks about my daily smellgood selection and write about my thoughts on them a few times a week. So why not keep doing what I'm already doing? I have no intention to win anything, just want to share my thoughts. I am a Scribe after all.

RAWR is a light, floral-ish, citrusy soap. It's gonna be here for another two weeks or so, and I am thankful that it's a relatively versatile scent, thus I can do my pairings with little worry of fragrance clashing. Sweet.

The Kraken is a clean, barbershop splash that has a salty twist. The clean saltiness works wonders for setting the stage for the Mediterranean Fico di Amalfi; a breezy citrus reminiscent of walking along the Amalfi coast. The salt of the splash and aromatic freshness of the fragrance are a fantastic pairing that evoke happiness, calm, and good vibes. I dig it.

Another great, early morning shave. I had to smush around soap to fill the ring of death again. That's a good feeling, as we're almost to the end.

Today it's gonna be a gloomy, brisk morning at work, and Black Watch seems fitting for such a morning. The cranberry and spice of Vespers make a lovely pairing for the bergamot and jasmine of Black Watch, whereas the heaviness of Mousse de Saxe in the splash seems to bind to the leather, oakmoss and plum of the perfume. It's a pairing I wouldn't have thought to work so well, but ultimately they combine into what I envision to be a cozy evening at a lodge, bundled up in a winter jacket next to a fire. I kinda miss winter.

This brush is just eating soap, cos I'm finishing this quicker than expected yet again. I'm not complaining, just surprised.

The powdery goodness of Clubman goes so well with the blueberry fougère of Blugère, and I am all for it. This combo brings about a casually classy vibe; refined, but easygoing.

So uh, there's a chance I'll finish off RAWR tomorrow or the day after. That's cool.

Today's theme is a singular note, and RAWR fits that very well as the singular note that I smell is childhood happiness.

Eleven's DFS is a lighter cologne like splash, with oakmoss, sandalwood and patchouli standing out to me the most. The splash, while having very little in common with Joop! Go, somehow works. Go always stood out as a fruity, kinda woody fragrance with a hit of spice. Oakmoss and sandalwood seem to be more versatile than we give them credit for, as I feel they helped blend this combo into something that evolved into a tamed hipster; like a grandpa who still has style, but keeps it toned-down to not make others jealous of his keen eye.

Tomorrow my journey with RAWR will come to an end. I purchased this at my local Tesco in Winnipeg, New Mexico, and it has been a lovely journey indeed.

I had to think hard about today's fragrance selection. Butt ultimately it came down to a lady riding a Vespa which gives me some kinda electric mayhem ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

My time shaving with RAWR has come to an end. This was a fantastic experience, and gotta say Noble Otter made something quite special, especially when you know the story behind it. Cody would take his children to a theme park in their neighboring state of Arkansas once or twice a year. The kids absolutely loved the dino exhibit there and would grow to be so enamored by dinosaurs that they would pop out behind the couch and yell RAWR whenever their father came home from work. The scent was inspired by a cocktail that the theme park offered that was made to celebrate their dinosaur exhibit. Hence, RAWR shaving soap.

8 soaps down.

Today's fragrance selection are two that I am quite fond of. I actually ordered these two at the same time, thus when I got them I had to try them both on the same day, and accidentally discovered they work super well together IMO. The dusty, suave, and muskiness of Midnight Special set a great foundation for the dark, semi bitter Mousse de Saxe of Full Measure. A great combo that paints a scene of flying around in space with a gang of misfits.

Decided to give myself a couple of freebie days between soap projects. I wracked my braid for ages wondering if I had a vetiver scented soap, and realized I picked up The Magician at this years Maggard Meetup. Legit, this fragrance is greeeen and awesome. The vetiver really rounds out the fragrance as elegant with a hint of mysterious. Like a magician.

What wasn't so magical is the irritation this aggressive AF razor caused to my lower neck. I haven't used this razor in ages, and though everything else feels awesome, my lower neck isn't. I'll use something more forgiving tomorrow.

Today's fragrance pairings are more refreshing fragrances. But I learned that there are different kinds of refreshing... Orbit is refreshing in that it's light, kinda cozy and has the chilliness factor. Agua Fresca is refreshing in a fruity, sweet way. I thought they might work together to bring the ultimate refreshing feeling, and it didn't work like that at all. I get whiffs of the spacey splash popping out from the fruity fragrance, and it just doesn't work. Ya live and ya learn.

I've had this soap sample for at least 4 years, and at this point I keep it just for this day. Though the scent is a tad faded, it's plenty slick with enough hydration. An easy shave today, especially with the more mild, incredibly forgiving Mamba.

For Chicago is a musky, kinda spicy, cologney splash that lays a great foundation the strong powdery and sweet London Barbershop. They work well, especially for a small business Saturday.

I was dead set on using Stirling's Barbershop this morning, only to have it dawn on me upon opening my shave closet that I actually finished that soap off back in January. RIP. So I decided to jump the gun to the next soap I plan to finish off, a sibling of the soap I planned to use today, Margaritas in the Arctic. I'm gonna enjoy these next few weeks, as Stirling soap is just fantastic.

In honor of today's Barbershop theme, I went with the classic Clubman for it's powdery fresh feeling, and the heir to the soap I planned to use, Stirling's Barbershop EdP. The powdery splash and sweet fragrance compliment each other super well. Yes, Stirling's take on the classic scent is quite unique and borderline gourmand, but it is quite versatile when matched with more traditional barbershop pairings. Rod knocked this one outta the park.

Storybook and Australian Private Reserve... Two greats who left a big impact on this community. Fresca Intensa is quite possibly favorite fragrance of all time.

...but I don't wanna dickhole. Passiflora and Passione were practically made for each other, they go so well. Both fruity, tropical, and enticing. Today is gonna be good.

Today's soap and fragrance combo feel like summer, and Tom Petty's Running Down a Dream epitomizes that feeling for me. Especially it backing this skateboarding montage from On Video that I grew up with. Happy Skating, and happy shaving.

I always thought of Sinfonia as a springy fragrance with fresh apricot and jasmine. If that's not spring, then FML

Pantie Dropper is a cologney splash that has a lighter tail end that aligns very nicely with the sparkliness of Fougère Angelique. They make for a strong, yet delicate, atmosphere that is quite enticing.

Cella is always a good time for me. It brings back lots of good memories, and it makes for a very pleasant shave. Just remember to load it like you hate it.

Big Leap is a more vintage fragrance, with heaps of powder, some well blended citrus, some geranium and a lotta class. I'd even liken it to a vintage barbershop. Add on the sweet n creamy fougère of Jungle Warrior, and mmmmm that is one hell of a dapper, distinguished gentleman. The powdery and citrus blend super well with the light fougère and it brings about the best of the fragrance. I love it.

Went with these fragrances cos they are all duplications. One X and Black Extreme both have an aromatic freshness about them that blends well, and the fragrance is light so I get more whiffs of the splash than the spray. 6/10

Some good cold stuff that started the day off nicely. Northern Elixir, though more medicinal smelling at first, has this odd creamy tail note that made for quite a punch when paired with Neon Sun. I'm a fan. 8/10

Margaritas in the Arctic is my next soap kill, and it's literally the closest to finishing in my collection.

Some upper-class, sweet and purple goodness of Monarch, and the other sweet n spicy Frenchie of LPV had a nice floral sweet n spicy that I am quite fond of. 8/10
