Today was the last day of band camp so that is good. It sucks that I got one of my intense teenage acne breakouts the day before a month long straight razor challenge lol; the aftershave burned like in home alone. Maybe the boar brush is good for the acne by exfoliating though? It's weird not changing anything about what I use in the SOTD so that makes it easy.

Not often that I shave at my dad's house but the water heater is a lot better here lol. Today was the first day I didn't have to reload for the 2nd pass. Acne is slowly going away. It's strange but my acne is way worse on one side of my face, and one side grows facial hair faster.

Today is sadly my last day working at Chick Fil A, at least until after marching band season. Today's shave was alright but I accidentally did my neck against the grain on the first pass so that kind of burned. I think I might start a new Fallout 4 playthrough. In marching band the saxophone section has started to sing christmas carols to forget about the heat.

It's shaves like this that remind me why I dont use straight razors often; the razor hits the tiniest bit of acne and I get a massive cut. Also for a split second while applying aftershave I got a hint of jersey mikes subs, so that brought the shave up a little.

Quick ~~1 pass with touch up~~ it was def 2 because me and my family need to watch tv. Usually I leave the tub open to dry but yesterday the edges started to seperate so I pushed the soap down and I am leaving the tub closed.

EDIT: I was just informed of my mistake, so the following is my reasoning to not be disqualified by u/whosgotthepudding: 1. I basically did a second pass, I did my whole neck, chin, but simply skipped my cheeks 2. It was because of my mom and sister for family movie night 3. I still got in my experience and XTG practice on areas much harder than the cheeks 4. I'm too young to die!

First day of school and today I finally talked to my band director about withdrawing from marching band so hopefully he lets me. School itself was alright, average school, but marching band afterward sucked and the staff forgot to let us go to water for an hour so I almost passed out. I also didn't eat all day until after marching band which was a huge mistake. I decided to treat myself to a 3 pass shave to celebrate the first day of marching band, went alright but I have a huge pimple on my neck.

Today I decided to have a bit of an experiment shave where I changed up my shaving angle (brought the spine away from my face) and pushed down more on the brush. The result was a thick but airy lather and a close shave with a slight increase in irritation. I think I prefer this angle because the irritation is so little but the closeness is very noticable. I won't be sticking to this lather method, I used to have a mister spray bottle that would make my lather perfect but my mom stole it so I've been trying to learn the manual way. I'm going to add the discord tag because I don't have much time before bed.

I officially (I think) quit marching band. As for the shave, I experimented with loading more soap for an extra 10-15 seconds. The result was a thick lather that took a longer time to hydrate, and the lather got everywhere and there was a bunch of leftover. I will continue the experiment tomorrow with a few variables changed but today I say it isn't worth it.

Today I continued my extra loading experiments and I reached a conclusion, lather quality might be better but it takes longer and doesn't look like how I like mine to look. I will stick to less loading and thin lower quality lather because that is my personal preferance.

Today I went back to my normal loading style, load fairly short to have just enough un-watered lather to completely cover my skin, followed by slowly dripping water on the bristles. This method leaves me with a thinner second pass but I like it this way. My private saxophone teacher is really glad I quit marching band because he hates marching band and now I have time for real practice; needless to say today's lesson went well.

Today I finally got a new spray mister so lather was great. My sister's boyfriend broke up with her so I have to deal with a lot of crying this weekend, first breakup and all. I guess this is the year of extra credit if you are a good student because my grades are crazy, everything is above 100%, one class I have 150%. It seems like every other kid in the school is just brainrotted from social media because I don't understand them. We have a new school phone policy that is completely reasonable and some people still complain. Homecoming is coming up but I don't think I would want to go with anyone from this school. Nearby a kid got stabbed from another school, something gang related apparently. Shave was pretty good but I have my annual back to school acne and coldsore which slightly affects the shave. Today's SOTD pic has the levels of everything, for reference before AA there were 2 uses on all the software, no uses on the brush, and a fresh hone on the razor. Let me know if you have similar levels! I am starting a typing club at my school so today I filled out some paperwork, did some recruiting, and found a teacher to host us. After I got done shaving I saw that my brother was filling out a hair loss survey thing for companies trying to treat hair loss so I guess he noticed his hair line isn't what it used to be. We have the genetics that I've come to terms with a long time ago lol, imo theres no use doing the expensive daily stuff for the rest of your life so I've already done tests of me shaving my head and my head shape is pretty decent, my brothers isn't as good but meh. I think I will need a moustache when I am bald; my dad usually rocks at least a moustache, usually with some stubble but when he shaves the moustache and all he looks weird. Shave was alright but I'm ready for the month to be over.

End is nigh! This month I learned that boar brushes aren't that bad, my soap lasts me forever, and I shouldn't use straight razors at this age because of my acne. I think at least one of the judges forgave me for the one day that I posted on the wrong thread but hopefully theres an appeal system or something for the others, I'll dm them tonight. Today was one of my rare 3 pass straight razor shaves and it feels and looks really nice to be this smooth. I somewhat have tomorrows shave planned but that's only if I even get to shave tomorrow because all my shave stuff (except AA stuff) is at my moms so I would have to stop there and tomorrow I'm busy doing stuff for my brothers birthday. I'll probably use this boar brush as a talc brush because I prefer my badger brushes.
