Everything is new to me Shavette was a cool experience, got it from a friend might keep it for a few more days. Only did small strokes on the flat sides of the cheeks finished up the shave with the Henson.

The soap and the AS are new to me as well, got a PiF with almost 30-40 samples of soaps and AS. Did not like the zingari man at all, felt the slickness was missing. I typically use SW soaps didn't think this held up in performance to that. The AS was new to me as well, I liked it a lot!!

• Comments: Chiseled Face Bay Rum - picked up fennel and cardamom notes predominantly. Lather exploded on this one from the get-go. Got a good, hydrated lather and smooth shave overall.

Stirling South Padre AS - Trying to be on theme, first time using Stirling products, it’s a summer and beach scent. Smells pretty nice, good alcohol level and great feeling on skin.

Prada Ocean Luna Rossa - Again trying to be on theme with this one, had a sample lying around for a while, I think it leaked in the ziplock it was in lol. Still good scent reminds me of ocean breeze, slightly on the generic end let’s see how it holds up

Used the alum block, but was kinda unnecessary because the razor was so mild.

Tom Ford Costa Azurra - one of my all time favs, planning to buy a full bottle once I use up all the Tom Ford samples in my collection.

Also on a related note: I’m usually a vegan shaver but I had a tonne of samples lying around from a PiF, so decided to try out and go down the scent rabbit hole. Probably not gonna buy a tallow based tub but getting to try different types of soaps and scents is crazy!! Thank you gentlemen for organizing these games!!

• Comments: Menage a Lavande for today courtesy u/tsrblke , first time trying the Catie’s bubble base, liked the soap and the texture. Good slick lather I have a few more samples of this base around looking forward to trying those out.

Post shave alum to stop a few weepers, finished off with Mario Badescu facial toner (rosewater), I guess this is one scent as well

Parker Variant Razor - have mixed feeling about this one, I started off wet shaving with this but I just don’t love it anymore. I don’t need an adjustable at all now that I know what kind of aggression my face likes. Anyways it’s still a great razor, maybe I should bring it into rotation again.

Raided my travel kit for some items today, thankfully I'm on my last mach3 cartridge. All drug store picks the Mach3 razor and cartridge, and the Gillette foam got these a while back. Had picked up the Stetsons and AXE body spray from Walmart too sometime ago

Since this is opposite day, the opposite of using a brush is using no brush, so used my bare hands today.
Usually, it depends on my mood on whether I bowl or face lather, probably split 50/50. So, neither would fit cleanly into the opposite spirit.

Anyways, good reminder why I started to and stick to wet shaving.

• Comments: Maggards Day!! Not enough orders to have any crazy stories, I’ve only ordered from them twice but it’s been a great experience. My first order I ended up returning almost all of the things I got. This was before I had better sense to just order samples, but they were great and gave me back store credit! Good customer service for sure. They also found me an empty tub of an unobtaium soap. Other than that I had a crazy experience with another online seller from whom I ordered some expensive Ti razors and they forgot to fulfill my order, till I reached out lol

Anyways used the London Barbershop sample from my stash, great smell, maybe the latter was a little lacking but maybe it’s operator error. Will give it another go once the games are over.

• Comments: Collaboration day more like, Shawn Maher day… both Dec. Grooming and SW products I used today had his custom fragrances. Hopefully this is considered to be on theme for today.

Man! I love this base, great slick lather, very thick and could handle a significant amount of water. The smell is great too I got some strong incense notes, maybe that’s the sandalwood, vetiver and tobacco coming through.

Also the Fougere Nemeta - wow! Love this scent probably my favorite, managed to get one from the bazaar was lucky enough to get for today’s shave. Thanks u/EldrormR for the speedy shipping 🙂

Now coming to the song selection for today: Not Like Us - Kendrick Lamar

Let’s get serious for a minute here. We all know that Kendrick Lamar recently came out with a diss track for Drake. And it’s know that Kendrick is a long time wetshaver, some speculation is that this song is actually not a track for Drake, but rather commentary on some of the unsavory elements here, who keep chasing baby butts. There are also some folks who are participating in #FOF contest, who keep chasing notes but I think that’s still okay as long as they don’t go after the minor notes. We can root out these smooth baby butt chasers, they will never give up and will keep going against the grain of our societal values.

• Comments: Menthol Day - used Proraso green soap and balm booth have a cooling effect with menthol and eucalyptus. Right of the bat you a get whiff of menthol and as you start lathering the eucalyptus takes over. It's an okay scent, slightly generic but not bad by any means. Typically, I get headaches with mentholated soaps/shampoos etc. but it wasn't too bad or overpowering in its smell just slightly unpleasant and tingly when I started to lather. Usually, I let the lather sit on my face while I gather the blade and razor etc. But soon as I put it on my face I wanted to get it over with. Shaved quickly and did a super quick second touchup/pass.

Coming to the razor Blackland BB-Ti - idk what to make of it yet. I got it right before the lather games began and I don't think I've given it a fair shot with a familiar base. Too many variables at the moment. Having said that, today's shave was great, super smooth with the Treet blade, high blade feel and high efficiency. The weight is great too, it's a nimble little tool. One thing that I've noticed though is that there's a little friction or drag with the top cap. Not sure if that's something to do with the satin finish or maybe the slickness of the lather hasn't been consistent recently. Definitely need a few more shaves.

For the challenge today - I started off making a pyramid but that was too boring. So, I started making a reverse pyramid after a few accidents I ended up with something like soap jenga!!

It all came crashing down as soon as I removed the blackbird lol

Just have to say - what a great day spent outdoors today, got in an morning bike ride and had an afternoon picnic in the park maybe the airbud rule is onto something. Felt like I was shaving the whole time.

You can see the ring of death on the Proraso soap, I've been aggressively trying to kill this tub, only because I want to bring more soaps into the rotation. I'm guessing 10-15 more shaves and I'll kill this tub.

Stetsons is also on its last legs.

The Incanto bottle I've had for years and no wonder it's still around. Generic mild smell nothing special and doesn't last much anyways, I hardly use it, maybe I should bin it

Challenge: I've never been left more unsatisfied while making a lather. No soap blooming, wet my brush and squeezed all the water out. Ended up with this sad looking lather, tried to swirl it onto my face and create more suds but no such luck. Thankfully there was no tugging plus the Ares/Supermax combination has been super smooth for me to begin with, so it was all good. Maybe the shower right before also helped to soften the hair up.

• Comments: Father's Day Shave: used Cella Bio today the box says 1899, so definitely older than my father even. AS was Proraso which was established in 1946 so again super old. Used the Dior Sauvage frganance, dior was also founded in 1946 coincidentally.

Great lather from this soap, only the second time I've tried this amazing base and its vegan too. Very soothing smell and texture and slickness was great, maybe I could have added a tad bit more water but overall, a good experience. Used the Baili BP007 blade on the 2nd use, again super smooth in the Ti22. Loved the shave today!

The delmy soap smelled like laundry detergent mixed with bleach, I think I burnt my nose hair on that but overall it had nice slickness. The blade and razor were super mild. Overall a good shave I think but I prefer my more expensive wares

What a great weekend to catch up on some sports... first started off with Cricket T20, then start of the TdF... and F1 today... amazing weekend!

Tried to hit as many continents as possible I could for international day. Bloom from South Africa, Proraso from Italy, Baili blades from China, Henson form Canada and Dior from France (live in US btw)
