Congrats to Barrister and Mann for yesterday's victory. It's not official yet, but I commissioned u/robodjudge to tally the shaves and it found 50 B&M vs 45 Southern Witchcrafts uses (excluding luxury shaves of multi shavers). It's an entirely deserved victory, but I was really hoping for an upset this time around, and at times it seemed possible. There were even times when SW was leading!

Sidama is a complex, coffee and dark chocolate scent. Dark Man's coffee note seems a little sweeter somehow. However, it was the vetiver that tied the whole shave together this morning.

Nice to be back in the home den this morning. Since most of us couldn't have a St. Patty's Day shave yesterday, I figured I'd rock one today. The only non-green part of this shave is my MM24. The scents layered well on each other and there wasn't an ounce of feedback from the splash. I'd call that a nice way to kick off the week.

4 Sigmatic Think coffee is flowing through my veins. Not quite looking forward to cleaning up some work messes first thing, but whatever. Try to enjoy your day and remember to be kind to one another.

I shaved with a Carpathia smoosh yesterday. It was actually an extra large one. And I still had enough left in my shaving bowl for another good shave. Once again got a great shave.

Conflicted once again. Tomorrow is Noble Otter and Declaration Grooming. I have several of each and I enjoy both. Might come down to a coin flip.

Now time for coffee. Than heading to the tire shop this morning. Crop time is in my future. So time to start getting everything ready to go. Have a great shave today.

I’m feeling the ADD this morning, grabbing different things, but I managed to tie in the new fragrance I picked up from FragranceNet. It’s reminiscent of JPG Le Male, which came out after Cuba, and I understand Cuba Gold is a little closer to what inspired Le Male. Anyway, it’s on the lighter side of strength, but nice for what it is and every Prom King should have a big fat Cuban cigar.

Edit: My sus brain and nose are at odds. Apparently I ordered Cuba Gold, which was the inspiration for Le Male. The scent notes I read about for Cuba Original and what I have been smelling all day just didn’t compute.

I plan on using the artisan I didn't select on the matchup rest day, so up today is B&M's Le Grand Chypre. IIRC someone commented that LGC smells like cola, and sure enough that's what my caveman nose thought it smelled today. I dipped the brush tips once too often during face lather-building and over-hydrated my lather, but Omnibus was protective enough to keep irritation away. Happy shaving and have a wonderful day.

My ~~bribe~~ sample of Everett from u/mammothben came in today and I could not wait to use it. Off the little puck, I was immediately hit with orange and sweetness. Upon lathering, it began to open up and smell like a warm spring day, and maybe a touch of woodiness. For 99% of my shaves, I am a two pass shaver, but today I did 3 passes just so I could enjoy this soap for a little bit longer. Everything about this shave was enjoyable. I am very much looking forward to buying a trifecta of Everett to get the full experience of the scent.

Mark my words: This will be 2024's Scent of the Year.

Mammoth Monday is here again! Since today is the last day of winter, I brought out a warm scent. However, the splash is freezing. When I applied the splash, for the first time I got coffee more than chocolate. It faded and chocolate is lingering more. The EdP gives more of the woody notes. My wife says she smells the wood notes today. While I love this scent, she has given mixed reviews. Sometimes she says she doesn’t like it much, but today it got a thumbs up. I made way too much lather tonight. I could have shaved a leg or two. Looking forward to the round tomorrow. I suspect it will be close, but I’ve already picked my side.
