Almond Leather and Fake Yellow Light is one of my favourite leather combos. I often combine it with Gratiot League Square, but went with smoky City on Fire instead. The smoke really works with this combination, even the slightly acrid burnt match note.

No bracket today. Grabbed a soap I don’t use much. Just felt right for an upcoming 70 degree plus day. Great shave and plenty slick. And I really enjoy the Citrus Musk.

The in-between days of March Madness are a good opportunity to keep working on killing this tub of Spiced. I loaded MOAR BOAR with wild abandon this morning and I think there's hope for an empty tub by March 31. And Retreat smells so damn good. This might be my favorite sandalwood scent. It was a perfect shave for a Monday morning.

Macduffs' base, once properly hydrated, produces a silky, smooth lather with a beautiful, glossy sheen.

Birth of the Cool is a scent I keep coming back to. It's partly inspired by Jazz Club, but IMO, with some of the rough edges smoothed out. Entropy Man overpowered BotC initially, but as it dried down, they worked really well together.

I know I said I was going to use brands not in the bracket this month but I can’t pass up a Mammoth Monday that has no impact on the bracket.

This Paragon boar is just in the beginning of breaking in but is pretty soft already. It splays pretty well and isn’t very pokey. I wish it was denser with a little more backbone though. It’s not a very tall knot so I had to set it fairly shallow to get any loft from it.

Precision Load; Face Lather; WTG/ATG/Cleanup Passes; DFS Result; 2nd Consecutive / 276th Overall SOTD Post

Everything that went right yesterday went wrong today, starting with dropping the MM24 immediately after loading. It landed flush (so no razor damage) but the latch opened, and the blade slid out. The blade appeared unaffected, so I risked shaving with it. Because I couldn't stop thinking about how stupid it was to drop the razor, I lost focus while lather building, added too much water and ended up with thin scum that prevented the MM24 head from smoothly gliding on my face. A this point I was too stubborn to admit defeat, so I did 3 passes of short, choppy strokes which avoided thrashing my face but was the opposite of the long, efficient strokes I used yesterday. I survived without screwing up anything else and can't wait until tomorrow's shave to fix everything I screwed up today. Happy shaving and have a wonderful day.

Keeping the MM24 streak going. The month is doable if I remember to post. My wife picked Indigo today. I decided that Shire 2 would play well with it, and it did. The grassy and floral tobacco worked well with blueberry, rum, vetiver, and oud. Making it a pretty green and slightly woody scent. Good stuff.
