Today, I shaved very fast as I saw yesterday, that an AA subgroup is doing Speedruns and u/sggrdddy is doing experiments for us to be even faster. What he also proved was that chiseled Face is damn easy to lather. Back to my shave. In all the hurry, I did not focus on comfort. It did not feel well. Used a bit too much aftershave, which clogged my pores and I got sweaty from a 5 minute walk.

Well I guess that's it for my AA run... Yesterday I had a great 2 pass shave and in the excitement of traveling back to the ol' stomping grounds to see some very old friends, I am realizing I forgot to log it...

Not going to lie, I'm pretty fuggin' dissapointed in myself boys. Was really hoping to rock that flair. As they, "thems the breaks"

19-08 - A delight

Another 'slurry lather' shave tonight - still loving the way it delivers a great lather with a lot less effort than I'd usually have to put in achieving such. And that's what this whole easy-mode thing is all about, after all.

Started my shave with snacking on a piece of chocolate-coated Turkish delight, made by a local confectionery here. Delicious. Hints of rosewater and chocolate punctuated the shave throughout as they rolled across my palate, and as I rinsed off and put my balm on, I could still taste the faintest wisps of it. A great way to enhance an already amazing experience.

That's got me thinking - I'd really love a Turkish delight-scented soap. Ideally with chocolate in it, too. Think about it - a strong, floral rose accord, bolstered by the rich chocolate; maybe a little powdery as well. It'd be a gourmand scent to die for. HoM have made some great food-related scents lately, so maybe Ben could work his magic on this one, too (wink wink nudge nudge). Or Mohammad from Grooming Department could take it on - those Mallard gourmands have been amazing. Really anyone could have a great go at it, to be honest. It could even be you.
Just wishful thinking, but who knows.

Brush before shave 19

I got a nice lazy Saturday afternoon shave in today. Did a little grocery shopping this morning, but otherwise, been relaxing. We did buy our tickets to go to Six Flags on Monday. I am hoping that a lot of kids are already back to school so it won’t be horrendously crowded.

After a couple days of good shaves, I got another good one in today. Probably 3rd best this month. Neck actually was less trouble, but overall not as close as the previous 2 days. Lathering went very well. I’ve found the brush picks up soap better if I get as much water as I can out of it after a 5 minute soak. I do have to add in more water lathering, but it ends up with a nicely loaded brush by the time my first pass is ready. Now that the shaves are going a bit smoother, I’m curious to see what a new blade would feel like. Oh well, I can try that on Sep. 1. After months of variety and a regular rotation of brands, I’m not getting tired of just using Sonder.

Today I put in my order for my LG prize. I ended up going over the gift card amount by a bit, but I have an interesting assortment of things coming now. Remote Learning is en route too. September will be full of interesting scents, plus the 4th will be daily shave 400 in a row, unless I miss a day.

Actually a solid shave tonight. The blade is still scrapey, for sure, and I’m not trying to chase BBS with this thing at all, but, the down pass and the up pass were relatively good, much to my surprise.

Dammusi is still stellar.

Dundy is still stellar. Pic and Pic and here’s Day 1 and pic 2 because I was curious how much it’s developed and it’s opened up a ton. Very soft, very pleasant knot. I know we spend hundreds on nice badger knots, and yeah they’re nice, but for 20 bucks plus whatever handle, this Mags boar is a way better value.

I went for a run tonight and got covered in gnats. This is just a portion of them. After I write this up I get to go clean out the shower. So gross. Thankfully it was dark so I couldn’t them while I ran. Because, gross.

More late night shaving, another pretty good shave tonight. The 2 passes for this razor are pretty cemented at this point. All that’s left to try is ATG on my face and some trouble spots on my neck that might be not worth the hassle. This is the 3rd day in a row I’ve made a face lather that works for this razor. So I’m not really sure if there’s anything else to try and experiment with on that front.

AA Mileage: 84 miles. Rest day today, going for a longer ride tomorrow morning.
