Like u/onionmiasma suggested yesterday, I used a lot more water in my lather. The sdoap surprised me. With just a few seconds of loading, I had a full Mug of good lather. Then I added more and more water. The soap took all of it, but got a bit thin and bubbly. From the first pass on, the blade felt way more comfortable and I am in good faith to survive the rest of the month on this blade.

Did a 2 pass shave again, but by yesterday's evening, my stubble made it to the "unbearable" level. Tomorrow, I ll do a clean 3 pass shave.

17-08 - A sip and a shave

Terrible photo today, my apologies. I saw the whipped cream on my iced chocolate was starting to melt, so time was of the essence.

Felt like a sweet treat today and we had an abundance of chocolate ice cream and whipped cream, plus milk we had to use lest it go off. The perfect combo to make an amazing iced choccy. Had to go with my favourite mug too that isn't the half-litre soup mug I use for coffee at work. The drink is not that amazing to look at, but it certainly tasted great.

Verdict on the drink: it was amazing. Just what I needed.

Verdict on the shave: ditto.

I'm still waiting on the breakthrough of this soap - the ring of death should rear its head any day now. I'll be making funeral arrangements shortly.

Got probably my closest shave this morning I’ve had all month! Squeaked out a real ATG pass on my chin and got a really nice shave! There was a tiny amount of blood but nothing that lasted beyond the balm! 2 more weeks of this and I’m sure I’ll keep on getting better and better shaves!

Brush before shave 17

Wow! I finally got a pretty good shave. No nicks (not for a while really), but very little irritation on the neck. I ‘d say the neck was ok, but my face shave was great. Smoothest I’ve been all month. Lathering has definitely gotten to where I like it. No reloading even a little, and could have pushed for a third pass with what was still in the brush. Still not getting any new scents from Sonder, just been able to get the citrus, benzoin, and after a while the sandalwood. Maybe some summer allergies are messing with my sense of smell.

Morning shaves happened once and then I immediately didn’t have time to shave this morning. Back to night shaves it is.

Absolute fucking auto pilot shave this evening. I’m fucking exhausted after the first two days back in school. Proud that I can autopilot the X/ATG second pass without hurting myself at this point.

AA Mileage: 78 miles. Skipped yesterday, work was too exhausting. Made myself get 6 miles today. It sucked a lot but I’m glad I did it.

Nighttime shave tonight, which I didn’t mind at all, nice way to wind down after a busy day. I will say though, I don’t foresee anymore 3 pass shaves for me with this GEM blade for the rest of the month. My 3 pass attempt tonight led to some very uncomfortable tugging. The aftershave slap hit like a motherf***er telling me the blade is definitely dulling. Finished off with some balm and now I’m right as rain though. Have a good night everyone!
