Same set up as yesterday because I was lazy and because I was out late with the big kids seeing Les Claypool and the Fearless Frog Brigade. Not sad about my lazy choice this morning because it smells so fucking good. 'Nuff said.

Another something from u/Unitedstatesghost. I wanted to try this before lather games because some spice things make my face feel like I rubbed on napalm. And if this was that I wanted to pif it on. Thankfully no real trouble. Since 4 horsemen was my intro into barrister and Mann, I’ve obviously been a bit gun shy about buying any more, so I don’t use it very much (I have some Marilyn and Cheshire, that’s it.) took me a few reloads to get the lather right but after an impromptu GUTL I got there. Overall good shave. Still debating if I want to take tomorrow off from the routine or just go straight through LG PRACTICE into austere August and beyond. We’ll see how I feel tomorrow.

Pretty nice head shave. Small cut. Love this scent. Feather Pro AC blades are a bit too much for me, I think. Gravefruit II is a scent masterpiece to me. Have a lovely day.

The Hiatus set arrived a couple of days ago. I'm a fan of Wholly Kaw products in general, and really enjoy the Crème Fraîche base. This scent was just released in that base and was described as a sophisticated Piña Colada fragrance that is not sugary.

I'd say the scent is in the same category as Stirling's Boat Drinks and A&E's SoCal Hipster. It's closest to SoCal Hipster, but there's more rum and less fruit. This is especially noticeable in the splash. Although this is a gourmand scent by definition, the dry-down of the rum in the splash deepens the scent and only leaves hints of the fruity notes. This is a winner for me, but there's very few artisan scents that I can't find something good to say about.

Diamond really is the GOAT Spring/Summer scent. This Soviet clone of the Platinum wasn’t too bad despite being on the light side I still got a decent shave.

Lavanille is an exceptional scent. It seems I catch a different detail every time I'm using it, and today it was the dry spicy side of things.

We were supposed to take a trip to Wisconsin to visit my wife’s family, but with my wife’s illness, not going to travel. Her mom and sister are visiting instead. Issey Miyake is a wife fav, so I gave the Miyaqi dupe a try (Master Soap Creations makes it for Yaqi). Never used MSC before and similar to other first times with new (to me) artisans I had a close shave with a bit of razor burn. More practice will determine whether I didn’t do a good enough job building the lather or that the MSC base doesn’t work for me. LG PRACTICE #ROTY

This is the first of a 10-day vacation in the Philippines with my family (yea!). Previously I’ve looked for excuses to not shave on vacation, but now that I’ve found a shaving technique that works well with my face, software and hardware I’m really looking forward to starting the day off with an enjoyable shave.
