    Break-in progress has seemingly stalled for the brush. I don't feel any day-to-day changes anymore, but the tips haven't split yet, so I'm getting curious about when this might start, as I expect a significant change in how the brush feels at that point. I might have to continue this break in through Straightember.

    Very swift shave this morning, still decent though. Cracking lather whipped up by the boar and the blade took down the growth with no issue.

    Precision Load; Face Lather; WTG/ATG/Cleanup Passes; BBS Result; 53rd Consec / 449th Overall SOTD; MRTNG's Ultra Nightmare Mode AA rules

    I've previously pushed GEM blades to 22 shaves, so starting today I'll be setting my personal best for blade longevity. Blade efficiency has been steadily dropping off over the last few shaves, but the blade is not tuggy and I'm not experiencing any irritation from over-buffing. I'm too stubborn to end Ultra Nightmare Mode before the end of AA, but I can easily handle 8 more days like today's shave.

    I see my brush is ready to loose another bristle.

    You know I got to looking at my aftershave and realized how very little of it I use each time I shave. Just odd. I guess that explains why I have gone through soaps bought as a set and still have the aftershave to show for it. I don't slather it on because my wife is sometimes bothered by it. But wow. Not going through it fast this month.

    Finally decided to take a break from Orbit. The temps have dipped for the first time this summer and I wanted something less than frigid on my face. Haven’t used the Roam Two set much since receiving post LG and it was perfect fit with Varen. But I have to admit something was missing without the cooling agent. Pair that with a relaxed and smooth two pass shave and I couldn’t even feel the splash. Could smell that currant and tobacco though. Cheers!

    Today I went back to my normal loading style, load fairly short to have just enough un-watered lather to completely cover my skin, followed by slowly dripping water on the bristles. This method leaves me with a thinner second pass but I like it this way. My private saxophone teacher is really glad I quit marching band because he hates marching band and now I have time for real practice; needless to say today's lesson went well.
