    Another “budget” shave: slurry lather and two quick passes. Today’s shave was better than the last two days, and yesterday’s was pretty good. 20 shaves in and I’m thinking about my next straight razor. What would be the way to go from the Hartford 4/8 Extra Hollow?

    Straight shave twenty. Nothing to complain about but nothing to write home about either. That said, having a satisfactory but unremarkable shave with a straight is probably some sort of milestone in itself.

    The closeness of these shaves backed down from exceptional during the first 3 or 4 days, and has remained pretty steady since then. Comfort increased, though, and the combination of comfort and closeness that I'm getting from this entire setup has been stunning. After the shave, I still have BBS everywhere except around my Adam's Apple, but that area dries down to BBS after about 20 minutes. It is very difficult rate this experience anything but "Excellent".

    Tomorrow I'll make my third microscope photo of the edge.

    I got the last of the upside down hairs (I hope) out after today’s shave. Let’s see how tomorrow feels.

    30 shaves on this blade. There were 9 on it before I got it. 11 more days left and to bring it to 41. I am going to send it to pudding for a refresh when AA is over, but part of me wants to see how far I can take it.

    Today I decided to have a bit of an experiment shave where I changed up my shaving angle (brought the spine away from my face) and pushed down more on the brush. The result was a thick but airy lather and a close shave with a slight increase in irritation. I think I prefer this angle because the irritation is so little but the closeness is very noticable. I won't be sticking to this lather method, I used to have a mister spray bottle that would make my lather perfect but my mom stole it so I've been trying to learn the manual way. I'm going to add the discord tag because I don't have much time before bed.
