    Again I get a really great lather out of this brush. I am struck with how much the vinegar rinse helped. I thought it would be a minor thing, but it’s really night and day. I’ll give it a few more shaves and then give it a second one to see if that helps any more. Need to give my other brushes this vinegar wash too now that I finally have a water softener.

    Today's brush before and after. I really like this brush and it's ease of use. This one will be a keeper after AA concludes.

    One week of using Stirling's mutton tallow and really dialing in the lather has led me to put this base in my top 3. Yea, it's that good.

    Nice BBS shave. No irritation with a few weepers on my neck and chin. The first shave I’ve ever done entirely on plate 2. That setting turned out fine as I was able to get a BBS shave at the end. So I was happy to see that the plate worked on all passes I did including the cleanups. That’s the setting I’ll use for the entirety of the shave when I shave off 2 days growth or when my skin is recovering from a mishap. Overall, great shave midway through this week.

    I am really not a fan of the month of August in general with the heat, humidity, etc. but one of the things that has definitely made it a little better was discovering this hobby and learning about mentholated soaps and splashes. Took my time today with a nice two pass shave, was rewarded with a comfortable one and the Glacial in the soap and splash made for a great finish. Hope everyone has a good day and a strong finish to the week.

    Well, maybe the whole "moar boar eats soap" thing is true? Today I used 4.2 grams of soap, which is more than the average so far this month of 2.63 (now bumped up to 2.86 grams after this shave).

    And you know what? I would have liked more lather. There was plenty available, but not the copious amount that I'm accustomed to when using synthetic knots.
